Born in the snow mountains of the Skatay Range, Basil grew up in a small village of Viera and was once coddled as the crybaby that liked painting until age revealed him to be a male Viera, and he would be brought out for the customary ward training men would undertake. The abnormally clumsy, unlucky and prone to danger Viera was somehow able to make it through this training despite the whispering of the villagers that were certain he wouldn't survive.After training Basil realized he couldn't fit within the role he was meant to fulfill so he chose to leave the village, his old name, and everything he knew.Basil now wanders Etheirys alone, painting the scenery as he travels as painting was what he had cherished most since he was young.As a traveler Basil often offers help where he can in exchange for a bit of gil or a place to sleep.

• Basil is an avid painter of landscapes and will often spend his free time painting a scenery he likes. He specializes in watercolour and oil painting and will reluctantly sell some of his paintings when in dire need of gil.• Basil enjoys going to the local tavern in each city and settlement he visits to drink.• Basil has had the misfortune of being captured by bandits on multiple occasions. Thankfully during each occurrence he was rescued by adventurers or the Warrior of Light.• Basil spent a year working at a brothel in Kugane cleaning the building, serving meals, repairing clothing and running errands in exchange for a room and meals while he was in the city.• Basil spent 7 months at Camp Dragonhead during the Dragonsong War after being found passed out in the snow by a knight near the camp. In exchange for board he offered help in doing mundane tasks around the camp and making trips to Revenants Toll.
